About the Artists

EMILY MIYEON LIM (Director/Playwright) is a Korean American director, writer, and performance maker whose work explores Asian American and Korean diasporic experiences, especially of Asian American and Korean women and survivors of gender-based violence. She directed Matilda with the Asian American Theater Project (AATP) and is a 2025-2026 Artist-in-Resonance at Stanford’s Institute for Diversity in the Arts and a 2025 Chappell Lougee Scholar. Emily is a third-year student studying TAPS and Psychology. 

JENIN AL SHALABI (TAPS 39 Crew) (she/her) is a sophomore studying Political Science and TAPS. She has performed in TAPS’s Three Sisters (Anfisa) and Witch (u/s Elizabeth Sawyer), as well as in the StanShakes’s Henry IV (Lady Percy) and Romeo and Juliet (Prince Escalus). Originally from Jordan, Jenin is passionate about performance, storytelling, and the intersections of art, politics, and identity.

MELODY DING (Minji) (she/her) is a freshman. 찜질방 is her first performance at Stanford.

PHUONG HO (Assistant Stage Manager) (she/her) is a junior majoring in Management Science & Engineering with a minor in Education. This is her first TAPS performance, but she has been involved with AATP since she was a freshman. Previously at Stanford: AATP’s [410]GONE (SM), Man of God (Head Prod), and as AATP’s financial officer. 

SEBASTIAN HOCHMAN (Composer) (he/him) is a senior double-majoring in Music and TAPS at Stanford. His recent work includes Huppet (Composer/Co-writer), The 48-Hour Musical (Composer/Co-creator), and Book of Dew (Sound Designer). He has also worked on productions at The Public Theater, Berkeley Rep, Arena Stage, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

EUNICE JEONG (Scenic Designer) (she/her) is a junior majoring in Biology. She is from Korea, and this is her first time working with TAPS.

SANDI KHINE (Assistant Costume Designer) (they/them) is committed to organizing against imperialism and US-led war for the liberation of all peoples, from Palestine to Myanmar and everywhere. They aspire to move with love and hope for a better world and draw energy from the possibility of winning in our lifetimes.

DA-HEE KIM (Graphic Designer) is a junior studying Electrical Engineering. She was the Executive Producer and now Artistic Director of AATP. Her credits include stage manager for Huppet, Man of God, and Three State of Matter, as well as assistant director and technical director for Matilda.

GAYOUNG LEE (TAPS 39 Crew) (all pronouns) is a first-year PhD student in TAPS. 

TRACY LI (Costume Designer) (she/her) is a junior studying Computer Science, originally from Illinois. This is her first time working with TAPS.

CHRISTIAN MEJIA (Lighting Design Advisor) believes that light can tell stories that go beyond words. His design approach seeks to create environments that invite us to lean into and learn something about our shared humanity. His practice includes live performance, architectural lighting, and immersive entertainment. His work has been seen on stages and in built environments around the world. BA from New York University and MFA from California Institute of the Arts.

SARAH SOHN (Dramaturg) is a first-year MBA student with a background in media and entertainment. She previously worked at a Korean content studio, contributing to webtoon story development and film investments. Passionate about stories told through various media, she strives to stay close to the arts through plays, musicals, and exhibitions that inspire reflection and curiosity. 찜질방 marks her first work as a dramaturg.

NAYOUNG SON (Lyricist) is a coterm in Computer Science and did music during her time in undergrad. Being actively involved with the Arbor, she is a singer-songwriter (Misty Air) and producer, and is also a guitarist in her band: denim in distress. 

ALEX STUMPF (Assistant Stage Manager) has been involved in backstage work since fifth grade. Throughout High School, he contributed to every musical, starting as a deck crew volunteer for The Little Mermaid in his freshman year and culminating in stage managing Mamma Mia! as a senior. He has also been part of Zilker Hillside Theater’s productions of Matilda and Legally Blonde, serving both on the deck crew and as deck chief. Alex is excited to get back in the fray in with 찜질방.

HENRY TIAN (Stage Manager) is a junior majoring in Bioengineering. Previously at Stanford, he has been involved in 410[GONE] (Costumes), Mary Poppins (Costumes), Man of God (Pastor), Three States of Matter (Props), Matilda (ASM), and Melancholy (Costumes).

VENCENT VANG (TAPS 39 Crew) is a senior studying Computer Science at Stanford University. He has previously worked on XR and visual computing projects with NASA at their Johnson Space Center and here at StanfordXR, focusing on data visualization and immersive design. Outside of academics, he supports campus operations at Stanford’s Student Service Center and R&DE. He is interested in the intersection of technology, storytelling, and interactive design.

LENNY WANG (Assistant Director) is a sophomore majoring in Linguistics and TAPS. Prior to arriving on campus this quarter, he was a K-pop trainee in Seoul, Korea, where he received intensive training in voice, dance, and acting. 찜질방 is an introspective journey and marks his first directing experience at Stanford.

JASMINE XU (Rachel) is a junior majoring in Psychology and Computer Science, with a minor in Art Practice. She previously played Ashley in AATP’s New Works Festival and, before Stanford, served as co-director of her high school’s Performing Arts Festival and lead actor in The Wind in the Willows (stage adaptation).

RAINA YANG (Lighting Designer) is a sophomore double-majoring in Electrical Engineering and TAPS. Previously at Stanford, she was involved in TAPS’s bed (LD), Ram’s Head’s Legally Blonde (LD) and Gaieties (SM), AATP’s Matilda (LD), Theater Lab’s Melancholy Play (LD).

J YIM (Chloe) (she/her) is a senior double-majoring in CS and TAPS. Previously at Stanford, she was involved in TAPS’s Grad Rep ‘24 (Crew), as well as acted in Theater Lab’s Yakuman Chance (Christina Pham) and an array of student-produced short films.

YINUO YU (Choreographer/Multimedia Designer) (she/her) is a freshman in the ITALIC residential program this year. This is the first show she is involved in at Stanford. 

LAUREN YU (Hana) is a senior majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Creative Writing. Coming from a background in public speaking and organizing/coaching for events like TEDxStanford, this is Lauren’s first performance at Stanford.
