FIRST FRIDAY | Intersectionality in the American Theatre
FRIDAY JUNE 04 at NOON PT | ONLINE via ZOOM
FREE + OPEN TO THE STANFORD COMMUNITY
As a pioneering Arab American playwright, Betty Shamieh — Spring 2021’s Roberta Denning Visiting Artist — will discuss how race, class, and gender impact American theatre artists. Using her own career trajectory as an example, she will delineate her experience with the politics of being a BIPOC artist and how it can shape the kind of work that an artist will ultimately make.
