AUDITIONS | WINTER DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE: “QUARTET”
SUBMISSIONS DUE SEPT 30
OPEN TO THE STANFORD COMMUNITY
TAPS Graduate Student Daniel Jackson will be directing a production of Heiner Müller’s Quartet as part of the 22-23 Grad Rep. Quartet features two characters roughly reenacting the plot of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ novel Les Liaisons dangereuses and being horrible people.
This Quartet will integrate digital and embodied systems into a performance heavily influenced by gaming, streaming, anomie, and virtual worlds. There will be projectors and computers. The work is especially suited to performers who are interested in physical performance, motion capture, and full body puppetry. Performers who want to participate generatively in the development of the performance are particularly welcome.
Role breakdown: Quartet features two performers playing four roles. Performers of every gender, race, and age are encouraged to audition with the understanding that they will be performing both male and female characters.
Rehearsal Schedule: Development/rehearsal meetings twice a week during Fall, daily rehearsals in Winter leading up to a one weekend showing in early February.
How To Audition/Submit: If you’re interested, please send a one-minute video of you performing an excerpt from the text of Quartet (you can find a copy of the text here*) along with a resume or bio and a list or schedule of potential conflicts to dnjack@stanford.edu.
